A man was arrested late Thursday morning in the parking lot of Juanita Village in Kirkland after he displayed his gun during an argument.

Kirkland police were called at 10:45 a.m. to the shopping area on a report of a man with a gun. When police arrived they found the victim and the suspect in the parking lot.

“It was a couple of guys with an ongoing dispute,” said Kirkland Police Department spokesperson Lt. Mike Murray. “The one guy knew the other had a concealed weapon. It was more response than would normally be expected.”

Murray said that there were threats made but no physical altercation.

“We arrested him for harassment and unlawful handling of a weapon,” Murray said.

Initial reports said that two schools were put on lock down but Murray said that was not true.
