Between July 16-21, the Kirkland Police Department reported 434 traffic violations (four DUIs), 35 alarm calls, 23 car accidents, 27 noise complaints, 11 thefts, five car prowls, 10 domestic violence calls, 11 calls for harassment, 11 acts of fraud, 26 calls of a disturbance, eight burglaries  and 19 calls of civil disturbance. At least 35 people were arrested.

July 21

Illegal substance: 9:44 p.m., 9700 N.E. Juanita Drive. An 18-year-old Kirkland man was stopped for speeding and upon contact the odor of marijuana was detected. The man admitted to having the marijuana and turned over 1.86 grams to the officer.

Domestic: 11:43 p.m., 15000 block of 117th Place N.E. A 21-year-old Kirkland man was arrested after he allegedly punched his girlfriend in the face and head.

July 20

Warrant arrest: 11 a.m., 132nd Ave. N.E. and N.E. 73rd Street. A 60-year-old Kirkland man contacted police to report a verbal disturbance between himself and three Kirkland teenagers over litter on the street. Upon contact one of the teens, a 15-year-old boy from Seattle, was found to have an outstanding warrant out of Seattle. The other two boys were warned about littering.

July 18

Theft: 11:07 p.m., 100 block of Lake Street. A 37-year-old Kirkland man was contacted by police outside a restaurant after disrupting and refusing to pay his $50.60 bill. The suspect stated that the restaurant had his credit card and it could be charged but his credit card had been left at a bar previously during the night. The card was subsequently declined. The suspect could not provide payment and refused a trip to the ATM. He was arrested on two counts of theft.

July 17

Domestic: 9: 30 p.m., 13400 block of N.E. 133rd Street. A 22-year-old man and his 20-year-old wife, both of Kirkland, got into an argument over hair dye. The suspect grabbed his wife’s writ and twisted it causing her pain and to fear him. The man was arrested for domestic violence.

July 16

Assault: 11:40 p.m., 52 Lakeshore Plaza. An 18-year-old Seattle man was arrested after assaulting two people at K-Town and being found in possession of alcohol.

Domestic: 12:41 a.m., 10000 block of N.E. 120th Street. A 31-year-old Renton man was arrested after he was found to have multiple warrants and was in possession of marijuana.

DUI: 1:49 a.m., 14200 block of Juanita Drive N.E. A one vehicle traffic collision investigation revealed that the driver was under the influence of drugs. There was a minor injury to the sole occupant of the vehicle.

DUI: 3:09 a.m., 1800 6th Street. A 21-year-old Seattle woman was observed unconscious in the driver’s seat of her parent’s vehicle, which was running. She was awakened by an EMT banging on the windows and refused a field sobriety test. The woman submitted a blood alcohol level of .224. She said she had not intention of driving but had the vehicle on for heat.

Theft: 8 a.m., 1400 block of 124th Ave. N.E. A Kingsgate Safeway employee took a Starbucks’ coffee pot and a bag of coffee without paying for them while on the clock. The suspect was arrested.

DUI: 4:31 p.m., N.E. 132nd Street and 116th Way N.E. Kirkland police units were dispatched to a report of a hit and run. A witness followed the suspect into a parking lot where she almost hit another vehicle and parked in a stall. The 76-year-old Kirkland woman was contacted by police and was unable to perform a balance test. The suspect submitted a blood alcohol content of .199. The woman was charged with DUI, hit and run and driving without an ignition lock.

June 25

Theft: 3 a.m., 11300 block of N.E. 129th Court. A 45-year-old Kirkland man reported that his credit card had $100 in fraudulent charges. The card was canceled.
