The following students from Juanita and Lake Washington high schools recently performed well at the DECA Area Conference and will advance to the state competition:
Juanita High School: Ryan Walter, Business Finance, first place test score, 10th place overall; Keenan Smith, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, first place role play, fourth place overall; Tristan Barton, Automotive Services Marketing, second place test score; Gloria Liu, Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan, second place test score; Mary Claire Squires, Advertising Campaign, second place test score; Amanda Johnson, Jay Krohn & Mary Claire Squires, Advertising Campaign, fourth place overall; Samantha Bakony, Retail Merchandising, eighth place overall; and Conor Goodwin, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, ninth place overall.
Lake Washington High School: Robert Baskin, Food Marketing, first place; Nicholas Velotta, Retail Marketing, second place; James Whitfield, Marketing Management, seventh place; Allyson King, Business Law & Ethics, eighth place; and Holly Sullivan, Business Law & Ethics, eighth place.
This year, almost 1200 students competed from the Northshore, Riverview, Mercer Island and Lake Washington School Districts, as well as Eastside Catholic.
