Lake Washington PTSA Council awards scholarships to local students, staff

The Lake Washington PTSA Council recently awarded several scholarships to local students and staff. All recipients were recognized during the Board meeting on June 6 at the LWSD Resource Center.

The Lake Washington PTSA Council recently awarded several scholarships to local students and staff. All recipients were recognized during the Board meeting on June 6 at the LWSD Resource Center.

The following Kirkland students received scholarships: International Community School: Taylor Thomas-Marsh, ICS Award; Juanita High School: Jonathan Iwazaki, Juanita High School Award; Lucy Marie Hill, Jay Ellis Music Scholarship; Stephanie King, Scholarship Award At-Large; Lake Washington High School: Elaine Ngoc Ha, Lake Washington High School Award; Dallen James Smith, Adria Klein Memorial Scholarship; Danielle Navarre, LWEA Bates Scholarship; and Alison Herendeen, Scholarship Award At-Large.

Other Lake Washington School District students who received scholarships include: Eastlake High School: Alexander Cureton, Eastlake High School Award; Felix Humay, Bob Hughes Scholarship; Casandra Hazel, Dr. L. E. Scarr Scholarship; Redmond High School: Tian Lee Kisch, Redmond High School Award; Cassandra Lawrence, Dr. Don Saul Scholarship; and Katelyn Kammers, Scholarship Award At-Large.

Staff Scholarships include: Lynne O’ Brien, special education at Mead Elementary; and Robert Kaneko, technology at Evergreen Junior High.
