Lake Washington Dance Team takes top honors, prepares for finals

The Lake Washington High School Dance Team continues to be a strong contender at every event entered this competition season. During the Eastlake High School Dance Invitational in Sammamish recently, the LW Kangs took home first place trophies in both the Pom and Military (Drill) categories. With over two dozen teams from all over Western Washington competing with over 40 different routines, the LW team was thrilled and honored to be awarded these two top honors.

As the reigning State Champions, the Kang Dance Team must defend their title this month in Yakima. Many schools in Washington are fielding strong, skillful, athletic teams, as Coaches Lindsey Beck and Carrie Robeson are preparing the Kangs for a challenging finish to this competition season. While the season heats up, the LW Dance Team is taking each hurtle in its schedule one at a time. District Finals will be held at Sammamish High School on March 13 and the Kangs will finish with the State Championships in Yakima on March 26.
