The Lake Washington boys flew past league opponent Interlake on Friday night, beating the Saints 69-21.

During the first half, the Kangs outscored Interlake 43-12. After the break, the story remained much the same, with Lake Washington adding 26 points, while the Kang’s defense held the Saints to nine points.

Matt Staudacher had 23 points during the match, while fellow captain Darien Nelson-Henry added 13. Jamal Muhammad had nine points, Guy Lynott added seven and Kelly Guy put up five. Both Marcus Giovacchini and Jeff Staudacher had four points, while Cody Bernstein and Drew Heimdahl had two.

The team faces off against Juanita at home on Tuesday, Dec. 6.

The same night the Lady Kangs played Interlake, winning 51-32.

The Kangs held control through the first three quarters, outscoring the Saints, while holding them to under 10 points each quarter. At the half Lake Washington had a 27-6 lead. In the final quarter of the game, Interlake scored 19 points, while keeping the Kangs to just nine.

Hunter Hopkins had the team high with 13 points, while both Whitney Dunlap and Sara Wilson had seven. Anna Jessen and Peyton Wozeniak had six points and Cassie Lively added five. Claire Anderson had three and Kalena Dierickx and Maidson Shepard had two points.

The team will take on Juanita on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
