A Kirkland woman was charged with stalking singer Clay Aiken after she allegedly scaled his security fence and looked through his window at his North Carolina home on April 3.

But officials say this was not the first time the woman tried to allegedly stalk the singer.

Barbara Jean Saylor, 57 was charged with trespassing and misdemeanor stalking for entering his property without permission, according to Chatham County Superior Court charging documents.

The defendant climbed over the fence to a gated community and then climbed over the fence to Aiken’s home, the documents continue.

Officials said she began looking through his windows when she was ordered to leave. She left the area after someone at the home told her that local law enforcement was notified, according to a Chatham County Sheriff’s Office press release Thursday.

Shortly after, deputies located Saylor near her vehicle and trespassed her from the property.

She was later arrested after Aiken filed charges against her. He told police that Saylor had done something similar in the past.

During that incident, Saylor reportedly threw her phone over the fence and told police that Aiken had invited her onto his property when in actuality he hadn’t, according to court documents. The documents did not say when that incident occurred.

The Kirkland woman was released under a $5,000 unsecured bond and she is scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court on April 24.

Aiken, 34, was the runner-up on Fox TV’s “American Idol.” He was also the runner-up on the reality TV show Celebrity Apprentice, losing Donald Trump’s final vote to Arsenio Hall last May.
