Kirkland residents can weigh in on mayor, council salaries

The Kirkland Salary Commission will continue to receive public input and discuss possible adjustments to the salaries of the mayor and council members at its Sept. 28 meeting.

The Kirkland Salary Commission will continue to receive public input and discuss possible adjustments to the salaries of the mayor and council members at its Sept. 28 meeting. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. and will be held in the Council Chambers, Kirkland City Hall, 123 Fifth Ave.

Public comment may be given at the meeting or may be submitted in writing to: Salary Commission c/o City Attorney’s Office at 123 5th Avenue, Kirkland, WA 98033 or e-mail rjenkinson@ci.kirkland.wa.us prior to 5 p.m. on Sept. 28.

If the Salary Commission elects to change the salaries of the mayor and council, it files the salary adjustment with the Kirkland City Clerk and the adjustment automatically becomes effective. Current salary information is available on the Salary Commission Web page by selecting “Resolution 09-001.”

The Kirkland Salary Commission is comprised of three citizens who are appointed for staggered terms by the mayor with the approval of the Kirkland City Council.
