Between Wednesday, Sept. 17 and Tuesday, Sept. 23, the Kirkland Police Department reported 342 traffic violations, 23 car accidents, 21 assaults (16 domestic violence), 20 thefts, 17 vehicle prowls and 15 noise complaints. At least 64 people were arrested.

Wednesday, Sept. 17

ANIMAL: 4:29 p.m., 9900 block of 124th Avenue Northeast. A local resident was concerned by two leashed chihuahuas in North Rose Hill Park. The person was concerned the dogs might “nip” at young children there.

FIRE: 7:47 p.m., 10800 block of Forbes Creek Drive. The Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at a residential building and smoke was reportedly seen emerging from one of the dwellings there. Damage unknown.

Thursday, Sept. 18

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: 2:30 p.m., 12600 block of 116th Avenue Northeast. A male resident of an assisted living home allegedly got into a physical altercation with his visiting wife. He was restrained by staff members and later arrested by police.

ASSIST: 7:43 p.m., 9600 block of Northeast 121st Lane. Police tried to aid a female resident in recovering belongings from a domicile, but a restraining order prevented them from allowing her to visit.

Friday, Sept 19

VEHICLE PROWL: 8:00 p.m., 12000 block of 120th Place Northeast. A 20-year-old resident was arrested after employees observed the man inside their company van. He reportedly “punched out” the front passenger door lock and was also taken into custody for malicious mischief.

Sunday, Sept. 21

ROBBERY: 10:45 p.m., 11700 block of 124th Avenue Northeast. An restaurant employee was allegedly struck on the back of the head with a rock as he closed for the evening. The victim, a 21-year-old Renton man, said his wallet had been taken and he could not identify the assailant.

Monday, Sept. 22

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: 3:36 p.m., 2200 block of Market Street. A 52-year-old intoxicated homeless man on the Juanita Bay bridge was found with an open container of beer. After a breathalyzer test indicated a high level of alcohol in his blood and he was arrested and taken to the county jail.

Tuesday, Sept. 23

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE: 8:50 p.m., 200 block of 3rd Street. Two juveniles were contacted in Peter Kirk Park for smoking marijuana and one was arrested. The juvenile was booked at the police department and released to a parent.
