Kirkland Police Blotter | Woman in hot car had stolen license plates, credit cards, IDs and jewlery and more

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.

Between Oct. 29 to November 4, the Kirkland Police Department reported 466 traffic violations (two DUIs), 28 traffic accidents, eight noise complaints, seven thefts, seven domestic violence calls, 23 alarm calls, 15 motor vehicle prowls, 11 disturbances, 10 cases of fraud, 13 harassment calls and 13 cases of harassment. At least 37 people were arrested.

Nov. 4

Domestic: 1 a.m., 700 Market Street. While on a cab ride home from the bar, an intoxicated 23-year-old Seattle female began throwing a fit and caused the cab driver to pull over. The woman got out with her boyfriend and threw his cell phone on the ground causing it to break. The woman was arrested for third degree malicious mischief.

Assault: 1:30 a.m., 100 block of Kirkland Ave. A 32-year-old Bellevue man was arrested after he punched a 27-year-old Kirkland man.

Nov. 3

Assault: 5:25 p.m., 100 block of Lake Street S. A 50-year-old Kirkland man was grabbed by the suspect around his neck. The 49-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for assault.

Runaway: 5:30 p.m., 11600 block of 132nd Ave. N.E. A father reported his 17-year-old son missing when he did not show up at their meeting point after school. The son was later located by Kirkland police in the Totem Lake area and was transported home.

Nov. 2

Trespass: 9:35 p.m., 11200 block of N.E. 124th Street. A 47-year-old Seattle man was arrested for trespass at the Totem Lake QFC.

Domestic: 8:45 p.m., 12200 block of 112th Way N.E. An officer responded to a report of a fight going on at a neighbor’s apartment. The reporting party stated that they could hear a male and female yelling at each other and it sounded physical. Upon arrival an officer spoke with a man and a woman, who said they were in a fight over the male’s drinking at home. The couple has two children who were in the home at that time.

Warrant arrest: 2:20 a.m., 12233 112th Way N.E. A Kirkland man who was at home in his apartment reported a loud disturbance by his neighbor. Police arrested a man on a DUI warrant out of Everett.

Oct. 31

Warrant arrest: 1:22 a.m., 106 Kirkland Ave. Two brothers walked out on a $140 bar tab at the Park Place Pub. The server later saw them at Tiki Joes and called police. Neither of them could pay the bar tab and one of them had a warrant out of Redmond.

Disorderly conduct: 10:36 p.m., 12700 block of N.E. 124th Street. A 24-year-old man was contacted outside the Lucky Seven tavern after an employee called police requesting assistance of removal. The man had been harassing bar customers and was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Domestic: 1 p.m., 12600 block of 130th Way. A 17-year-old Kirkland male was arrested for domestic violence and assault.

Oct. 29

Stolen property: 5:29 p.m., 11500 block N.E. 124th Street. An officer pulled over a 22-year-old kirkland female as the car had been reported stolen out of Mill Creek. When told that the car was reported stolen the woman stated that the car was her boyfriend’s. Upon arrest the woman was found to have credit cards and military IDs in her front pocket. When asked if they were her identification she stated “I was just about to throw those out the window.” The officer called for several more units to assist. The woman was also found to be driving with a suspended license from the Kirkland Police Department and a warrant for third degree theft out of Burlington, Wash. In all the woman was found to have stolen property in the car in the form of an iPod, a lot of jewelry, GPS unit, many credit cards, IDs, Costco cards, gift cards, two sets of license plates with the numbers 123VYF and 683SJQ, along with car burglary tools and methamphetamines.

Oct. 26

Theft: 12 noon, 6625 132nd Ave. N.E. A 54-year-old Kirkland female was arrested and issued a one year trespass letter for shoplifting from the Bridle Trails Red Market.
