Kirkland Police Blotter Oct. 7-13

The weekly Kirkland Police blotter is represented on an interactive map below. Instead of listing the selection of calls separately, this feature allows the information relating to the call to be placed on the map itself.

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.

Between Oct. 7-13, the Kirkland Police Department reported 366 traffic violations, 12 traffic accidents, 12 noise complaints, 13 thefts, six animal control, four domestic violence, 28 alarm, four motor vehicle thefts, 12 motor vehicle prowls, two cases of illegal substances, five burglaries, four harassments, three cases of fraud, two malicious mischiefs and two assaults. At least 26 people were arrested.

Oct. 11

Warrant arrest: 2:48 a.m., 11600 114th Drive N.E. A 25-year-old Sedro Wooley man was stopped on traffic for one felony and two misdemeanor warrants. The man was arrested and transported to Mount Lake Terrace. The man will also be cited for driving with a suspended license.

Domestic: 11:10 p.m., 9800 block of N.E. 130th Place. The reporting party told police a fight involving three males and one female, all tenants of the building, was happening in the parking lot. When police arrived, the four involved tried to flee but were stopped. The woman and one of the men were arrested on outstanding warrants.

Oct. 10

Assault: 8 p.m., 12033 N.E. 80th Street. A 17-year-old female arrived at Lake Washington High School’s Homecoming dance at Seattle Center so intoxicated she stumbled in the front door. The ensuing investigation turned into an assault when the suspect punched a 37-year-old male in the chest. The suspect was removed from the venue and refused a blood alcohol test. However, a reading of .014 was obtained from the air in the back seat of the patrol car following her removal.

Stolen property: 1:19 a.m., 11224 N.E. 124th Street. A 17-year-old Kirkland male was arrested for theft in the third degree after he left the QFC with two 24 oz. bottles of Beck’s and was apprehended by two employees. The boy lied and gave a friend’s name until he was caught by Kirkland Police. The boy was charged with theft in the third degree, minor in possession and making false and misleading statements to a public servant. The boy was released to his mother.

Hit-and-run: 12:33 a.m., 12600 block of N.E. 100th Street. A vehicle struck another vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied, in the 12600 block of N.E. 100th Street. All four occupants of the suspect’s vehicle fled the scene. A K9 search was unsuccessful. The suspected driver of the vehicle stumbled back to her vehicle and was arrested for minor in possession. The suspect’s vehicle was impounded.

Oct. 9

Sex, other: 4:07 p.m., 11200 block of N.E. 124th Street. A 51-year-old Seattle man was arrested at the QFC at Totem Lake after he exposed himself to the store’s female manager. The man was extremely intoxicated and provided a blood alcohol sample of .3. The man was transported to the Kirkland Jail where he was booked and checked by Kirkland aid.

Mental, emotional: 12 p.m., 100 block of 4th Ave. South. A 52-year-old male had a bad day and made comments to his 78-year-old mother that frightened her. No crime was committed.

Theft: 2:27 p.m., 2000 block of 9th Street S.W. The reporting party claims that a friend borrowed his wheel/rims and some tools about a month ago and never got them back.

Oct. 8

Warrant arrest: 9:56 p.m., 11400 block of N.E. 116th Street. A male was arrested for a warrant.

Oct. 6

Court order: 4:15 p.m., 400 block of 4th Ave. South. A Kirkland woman reported that she received a phone call from her daughter, who stated that she was visited by a man at her residence in Bothell. The man asked numerous times to set up a meeting between the three of them so that he could talk to the mother and she could fix the current no-contact order that exists between the man and the female’s mother. The phone call was found to be a violation of the order. The man was taken into custody.
