Kirkland Police Blotter for August 12-19

The weekly Kirkland Police blotter is represented on an interactive map below. Instead of listing the selection of calls separately, this feature allows the information relating to the call to be placed on the map itself.

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.

Between Aug. 12-19, the Kirkland Police Department reported 249 traffic violations (three DUIs), 14 traffic accidents, 14 noise complaints, 11 thefts, four animal control calls, three domestic violence calls, eight burglaries, 10 motor vehicle prowls, seven malicious mischief calls and six cases of fraud. At least 46 people were arrested.

Aug. 17

Minor, liquor violation: 11:28 p.m., 12200 block of N.E. 90th Street. Four minors were arrested for possession of alcohol, drugs and drug paraphernalia. Police spotted the four minors, two girls and two boys ages 16-18, after leaving a reported juvenile party.

Aug. 16

Liquor violation: 2:24 a.m., 52 Lakeshore Plaza. A 17-year-old Bellevue boy and a 16-year-old Kirkland boy were arrested for minor in possession and for frequenting a tavern after they were found inside the Shark Club after hours. A 40 caliber magazine for a semi-automatic handgun was found on one of the suspects.

Aug. 15

Assault: 2:54 a.m., 200 block of 1st Street. A 30-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for fourth degree assault after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. Photographs and video were taken at the scene.

Malicious mischief: 12:25 a.m., 12700 block of N.E. 124th Street. A 39-year-old Kirkland man became upset after being told to leave the Lucky 7 Saloon. The man then punched the glass out of the front door window. When arrested the man was found to have .83 grams of suspected marijuana.

Aug. 14

Theft: 5:30 p.m., 8600 block of 120th Ave. N.E. Kirkland. Costco security saw a 23-year-old Bothell woman attempting to return items that she had just shoplifted and used a receipt that did not belong to her. The total amount of the food items was $46.64. She was arrested and verbally admitted to the crime.

Trespass: 7 p.m., 300 block of Kirkland Ave. A 28-year-old Bothell man was arrested after trespassing in a park.

Missing person: 8 p.m. A juvenile female climbed out of her window and ran away from her apartment. The juvenile was located and returned home.

Warrant arrest: 10:20 p.m., 200 block of 3rd Street. A 21-year-old Kirkland woman was seen at the transit center in downtown Kirkland and found to have two outstanding King County warrants for unlawful bus conduct.

Aug. 13

Burglary: 11:30 a.m., 11600 block of 101st Place N.E. A Kirkland teen was arrested after he admitted to breaking into a room that is off limits to him at his parents house to steal a laptop computer.
