Kirkland Police Blotter for Aug. 26 through Sept. 1

The weekly Kirkland Police blotter is represented on an interactive map below. Instead of listing the selection of calls separately, this feature allows the information relating to the call to be placed on the map itself.

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.

Between Aug. 26 and Sept. 1, the Kirkland Police Department reported 373 traffic violations (two DUIs), 22 traffic accidents, 24 noise complaints, eight thefts, 12 animal control calls, six domestic violence calls, 20 alarm calls, four burglaries, eight motor vehicle prowls, eight malicious mischief calls and six cases of fraud. At least 32 people were arrested.

Aug. 31

Fraud: 2 p.m., 200 block of 7th Ave. S. A Kirkland woman claims that charges had been put on her credit card at a Pheonix, Ariz. restaurant. The victim does not know how they gained access to her information, and how they created a card. The card company has credited her account.

Robbery: 6:07 p.m., 12519 N.E. 85th Street. An adult male robbed the Rose Hill branch of the Alaska USA Federal Credit Union. He threatened the tellers and said he had a gun, which was never seen or displayed. The suspect left the immediate area on foot.

Aug. 30

Car theft: 10 p.m., 9900 block of N.E. 125th Lane. A 19-year-old male reported that his 1995 black Honda Civic was taken from his residence the previous night between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 9 a.m. The vehicle was entered as stolen and subsequently recovered by Seattle police and returned to the owner.

Liquor violation: 10:40 a.m., 7800 block of 124th Ave. N.E. A 17-year-old Kirkland female was arrested for being a minor in possession of alcohol after leaving a juvenile party.

Aug. 29

DUI: 1:54 a.m., 200 Central Way. A 40-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for DUI after he failed to yield for several pedestrians walking in a crosswalk. The man performed poorly on the field sobriety test and gave a blood alcohol content sample of .150.

Warrant: 8 p.m., 200 3rd Street. A 42-year-old Kirkland man was contacted and arrested on his outstanding Seattle warrant for theft.

Aug. 28

Sex, other: 2:25 a.m., 200 Kirkland Ave. A 27-year-old Kirkland female had oral sex with unknown male expecting cocaine in return. The incident was initially reported as a rape.

Aug. 27

Malicious mischief: 1:45 p.m., 600 block of Waverly Way. The driver-side window of a Hillsboro, Ore. man’s minivan was broken by a poorly thrown ball.

Aug. 25

Car theft: 6 p.m., 12200 block of 102nd Place N.E. A Kirkland man’s green 1994 green four door Honda Accord was taken from his driveway overnight.
