Kirkland Police arrest substitute teacher after alleged child pornography found on laptop

A 72-year-old man was arrested in Woodinville Wednesday by the Kirkland Police Department for allegedly possessing child pornography.

A 72-year-old man was arrested in Woodinville Wednesday by the Kirkland Police Department for allegedly possessing child pornography.

The suspect had dropped off his computer to be repaired at a Kirkland repair center and the computer technician found what they believed to be photos of child pornography on the computer’s hard drive, according to a KPD press release.

The technician contacted the KPD to report their findings and the case was turned over to the Investigation Division. Detectives obtained search and arrest warrants to collect evidence and make the arrest of the suspect, who is a substitute teacher for the Northshore School District.

The case will also be investigated by Homeland Security Investigations.
