The United States Achievement Academy has recognized Kaija Stern of Kirkland as a student of excellence in foreign language. Stern, who attends Kirkland Junior High, was nominated for this honor by Ruth Anderson, a Spanish teacher at the school. Stern will appear in the United States Achievement Academy’s Official Yearbook that is published nationally.

Stern is the daughter of J.D. and Aggie Stern from Kirkland.

Selection standards include academic performance, interest and aptitude, leadership qualities, responsibility, and a recommendation. This is a prestigious honor; the Academy recognizes fewer than 10 percent of all American high school students.
