Kirkland high school raises $5,700 for local charity

Lake Washington High School students recently collected $5,700 and about 15,000 pounds of food and household items to be shared between the Rainier Valley Food Bank in Seattle and Hopelink.

Lake Washington High School students recently collected $5,700 and about 15,000 pounds of food and household items to be shared between the Rainier Valley Food Bank in Seattle and Hopelink.

The event was run by the school’s Loyalty Club, a community service club made of 18 seniors, under the direction of club president Manon Debuire. The event chairs were Samantha Wilmot, Jessica Truong and Katie Melanson. Other groups in the school helped, including the Beta Club, Honor Society, Key Club, QSA, Philosophy Club, Leadership, Latino College Prep, Cheer, Gymnastics, Boys’ Basketball, Cross Country and many homerooms.
