Kirkland firefighters snuff small fire at Pegasus Pizza

Kirkland firefighters snuffed a small fire at Pegasus Pizza on Wednesday morning.

Kirkland firefighters put out a small fire at Pegasus Pizza on Wednesday morning.

Kirkland, Bellevue and Redmond firefighters responded to the small exterior fire at the business located at 12669 NE 85th St. in Kirkland within four minutes, according to Kirkland battalion chief Larry Peabody. NORCOM officials received a call of the fire around 10:27 a.m.

Peabody said no injuries were reported, as Pegusus Pizza had yet to open for the day.

Firefighters used a saw to cut open a side door to extinguish potential flames from the inside but the fire was contained to the exterior east side of the building.

“Anytime there’s an exterior fire, it requires a longer investigation,” Peabody said, noting he could not confirm whether it was arson or not.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
