Kirkland Congregational Church celebrated its 130th anniversary on Nov. 21, during worship services. Recently installed Pastor Reverend Jason Boyd recounted for the congregation how, in those 130 years, the church had changed locations from Pleasant Bay, to Houghton, and now finally to across the street from Kirkland City Hall where the current building has been for several decades. The church has also changed names six times, including a stint where the church was partnered with the local Methodist church.

The congregation has many reasons to celebrate as the church recently installed as Pastor the Reverend Jason Boyd after an 18 month national search. Reverend Boyd and his husband, Juan Carlos Gándara, moved from Natick, Mass. where Boyd served as the interim assistant minister at the First Congregational Church.
