Kangs open new softball field on Lake Washington High School campus

The Lake Washington High School softball team opened its new on-campus field against crosstown rival Juanita High School on Wednesday afternoon.

The Lake Washington High School softball team opened its new on-campus field against crosstown rival Juanita High School on Wednesday afternoon.

Former Lake Washington High School softball player Kristi Walker threw out the ceremonial first pitch to her daughter, and current Kang player, Hannah Walker. The Walkers have three generations who have played for the Kang softball team.

The stands were packed for the first game with many parents and students attending the game. Lake Washington High School football head coach AJ Parnell was also in attendance to show support to the softball team.

The high school’s drum line was part of the festivities as the field was dedicated.

The defending state champion Kangs had sophomore Tori Bivens on the mound to face the Rebels. The Reporter will post the results of the action on the field when more information is available.
