Juanita High School students prove their school is strongest

Juanita High School team members recently competed in the first annual Washington Strongest School Competition (WASSC) on May 22 at Memorial Stadium in Seattle.

Juanita High School team members recently competed in the first annual Washington Strongest School Competition (WASSC) on May 22 at Memorial Stadium in Seattle.

Team members representing JHS, which came out the winner of the competition, included: Cody Treddenbarger, Jeremiah Laufasa, Austin Hilliker, Matt Nilsson, Kate Cryderman, Sabrina Grandke-Bawab, Jade Finau and Theresa Laufasa.

The event was founded by Daniel Jahn, owner of Maximum Sports in Bellevue and former UW football player Willy Austin from the Austin Foundation. This was an event to support the Austin Foundation, a non-profit organization that transforms lives by providing accessible, interactive opportunities for young people to experience the benefits of of a fit and healthy lifestyle.

Some of the events included: tug of war, tractor tire flip, 300 yard backpedal run and 25 pound over-head sand bag run.
