How high? Sky High! Kirkland photographer wins “best of” awards

Kirkland photographer Marv Heston was honored with two awards, a prestigious Kodak Gallery Award and an Award of Excellence.

Heston received the KODAK Gallery Award for his image “How High? Sky High!” at the 2010 Western States Regional Competition held in Pasadena, Calif. in February. His image was selected by the judges as “Best of” from amongst the hundreds of images in the wedding division. The Kodak award is presented to recognize and celebrate professional photographers who operate at the highest levels of their craft.

Heston also received the 2009 Award of Excellence for wedding photography given by the Seattle Professional Photographers Association (SPPA). This award is given to the photographer whose images for the year represent the very best and most consistent work in wedding photography. En route to receiving this award, Heston’s images won seven First, eight Second, and three Third place awards in SPPA’s monthly print competition.

Heston and his wife, Patrice, live in Kirkland, where Patrice owns and operates The Dancewear Center, a retail store that sells dance clothes and accessories, and Heston owns and operates Heston Photo.
