The Metropolitan King County Council unanimously confirmed the appointment of former Kirkland City Manager David Ramsay to the King County Regional Human Services Levy Oversight Board. Ramsay served as city manager for 12 years before retiring in 2010.

Ramsay was nominated for the District 6 position and will serve a partial term, which expires on Dec. 31, 2012.

“Dave knows Eastside issues and will make reasoned and compassionate decisions,” said Council Vice Chair Jane Hague. “He’ll make a great addition to the Regional Human Services Levy Oversight Board.”

The King County Regional Human Services Levy Oversight Board was established as part of the Veterans and Human Services Levy approved by County voters in 1995. The board was established to monitor levy proceeds designated for services for veterans, military personnel and their families ensuring it is in accordance with the adopted levy service improvement plan.

The membership of the board consists of nine council nominated positions, and three Executive nominations from the members of the King County Veterans Advisory Board.
