Energize Eastside EIS scoping meetings in Kirkland

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is proposing to build a new electric substation and approximately 18 miles of high capacity electric transmission lines from Renton to Redmond.

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is proposing to build a new electric substation and approximately 18 miles of high capacity electric transmission lines from Renton to Redmond. PSE’s proposed project is intended to address an electrical transmission capacity deficiency and improve electrical grid reliability for Eastside communities. The project requires analysis of potential environmental impacts through development of Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The Energize Eastside EIS is being led by the City of Bellevue in cooperation with the cities of Kirkland, Newcastle, Redmond, and Renton.

Phase 1 Scoping Begins April 30

The 45-day Public Scoping Comment Period for Phase 1 of the Energize Eastside EIS commences April 30, 2015 and closes at 5pm on June 15, 2015. See the attached scoping notice for details and learn more at www.EnergizeEastsideEIS.org.

Scoping Meetings

Five public scoping meetings are being held in May to provide information about the Energize Eastside EIS and to receive public comments. You are encouraged to attend any one of these meetings. If you are unable to attend, please visit www.EnergizeEastsideEIS.org during the scoping period to view the meeting materials and provide comments using our online form.
