Eastbound SR 520 to close overnight May 4 for construction

All lanes of eastbound State Route 520 will be closed overnight Monday, May 4 between Montlake Boulevard and the highway on-ramp from Lake Washington Boulevard.

The following is a release from the Washington State Department of Transportation:

All lanes of eastbound State Route 520 will be closed overnight Monday, May 4 between Montlake Boulevard and the highway on-ramp from Lake Washington Boulevard. The closure will last from 11 p.m. Monday, May 4 to 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 5. The eastbound ramp from Montlake Boulevard to the highway will also be closed. All other ramps will remain open, as will all westbound lanes of SR 520. Crews working on the West Approach Bridge North Project will use the closure to cut a trench across the highway’s eastbound lanes in preparation for installation of a new sewer line.

What to expect:

  • All eastbound lanes of SR 520 will be closed beginning at 11 p.m. Monday, May 4 between Montlake Boulevard and the Lake Washington Boulevard on-ramp.
  • The Montlake Boulevard ramp to eastbound SR 520 will be shut down during the closure.
  • All other highway ramps and westbound SR 520 will remain open through the closure.
  • Drivers who intend to travel to the Eastside from Seattle during the closure should plan to take Interstate 90 or an alternate route around Lake Washington.
  • All highway lanes will be open by 5 a.m. Tuesday, May 5.
