Drunk driver crashes into house and flees on foot: Police blotter Feb. 3-9

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.

Between Feb. 3-9, the Kirkland Police Department reported 368 traffic violations (five DUIs), 26 alarm calls, 13 car accidents, seven noise complaints, 11 thefts, 10 car prowls, three domestic violence calls, two acts of fraud, 10 calls of a disturbance, three assaults, seven noise complaints, six calls for malicious mischief and six calls of harassment. At least 31 people were arrested.

Feb. 8

Minor, liquor violation: 6:20 p.m., 202 Third Street. An 18-year-old male and a minor were contacted by police in Peter Kirk Park after it was reported that they stole beer from the Parkplace QFC. The minor was noticeably intoxicated and arrested for minor in possession, consumption of alcohol by a minor and trespassing.

Feb. 7

Assault: 3:27 a.m., 12301 120th Ave. N.E. A 30-year-old Bothell man was assaulted by a bouncer at a bar.

Disorderly conduct: 2:07 a.m., 12301 120th Ave. N.E. Three males, including two minors, were arrested for fighting in public.

Feb. 6

Illegal substance: 11:04 p.m., 13033 N.E. 70th Place. An officer made contact with the occupants of a vehicle in the parking lot of Tech City Bowl. The occupant in the driver’s seat was arrested for minor in consumption, drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession.

Minor, liquor consumption: 10:22 p.m., 13033 N.E. 70th Place. Two juveniles and one underage adult were arrested for minor in consumption of alcohol.

Assault: 1:15 a.m., 111 Central Way. Two men were arrested after an officer observed them repeatedly striking a Wild Rover bouncer who was on the ground. The two men were also found to be in violation of a no trespass order.

Feb. 5

Assault: 8:10 p.m., 12500 block of 116th Ave N.E. An employee who was disciplined by his supervisor assaulted the supervisor by hitting, kicking and strangling him. The employee left on foot and was arrested at his nearby residence.

DUI: 4 a.m., 11200 block of 100th Ave. N.E. An 18-year-old Everett driver collided with a house after failing to make the turn from N.E. 112th Street in her friend’s 2005 Ford F-150 pickup truck. The homeowner woke up to see the woman exit the vehicle and leave on foot. The suspect showed signs of intoxication and provided a blood alcohol sample of .272.

Feb. 3

Accident: 4 a.m., 12300 N.E. 124th Street. A man driving a garbage truck struck the corner traffic light with the truck’s boom arm. Minimal damage was caused to the signal.

Traffic offense: 11:06 a.m., 11200 N.E. 85th Street. A 34-year-old Kirkland man was stopped and subsequently arrested for speeding and driving with a suspended license.
