Doll organization’s library named in Kirkland woman’s honor

Atha Kahler, a resident at Aegis at Totem Lake, was surprised by a close group of friends who share her passion for collectible dolls on Feb. 10.

For more than 50 years, Kahler has shared her research and endless knowledge with the Seattle Doll and Toy Collectors Club and the members of the United Federation of Doll Collectors.

These two organizations, for the first time, have named a specific room at their headquarters for an individual who has made an outstanding difference in the doll world.

Kahler’s friends said, “You have given so much of yourself to the doll world, endlessly shared your research and knowledge with the Seattle Doll and Toy Collectors and the UFDC. Your infectious love and joy for dolls has been enjoyed by all of us and for that we are grateful.”

So from now on, the library at the United Federation of Doll Collectors in Kansas City will be known as “The Atha Kahler Library.”
