The City of Kirkland and contractor will minimize impacts during construction and limit night-time work and full closures of the intersection. There will be advanced notice of any scheduled night-time work and intersection closures.

Adjacent properties will be notified well in advance of road closures, parking restrictions and planned utility shutdowns.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained throughout the construction process.

The construction contract for the improvements was awarded to Sanders General Construction. The project is funded by a $2 million State of Washington Community Trade and Economic Development Grant and $50,000 from the City of Kirkland’s Capital Improvement Program.

The city is seeking funding for phase two, which will include public art and additional gateway enhancements.
