Each year, AAA Washington and a panel of judges from the Washington Traffic Safety Commission, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction choose 10 outstanding patrollers from among thousands in Washington to induct into the Hall of Fame.

The nomination process consists of essay questions both the patroller and his/her advisor must complete about their performance as a patroller, leader and role model. Patrollers are judged on their leadership skills, dedication to traffic safety, citizenship and contributions to their school safety patrol.

Dubuire moved to Kirkland from France in 2007 not speaking a bit of English. It’s a testament to his dedication that he was fluent in English just a short time later. Dubuire is described by his school safety patrol advisor, Ms. Guemple, as always professional, a good problem solver, a team player, and a great leader.

He is dedicated to being the best person he can be whether that’s on patrol, in the classroom or on the soccer field. He is an overachiever with great character. For his leadership and professionalism, Dubuire was nominated into the 2011 AAA School Safety Patrol Hall of Fame.

The 10 Hall of Fame inductees were honored during an award ceremony at Safeco Field on May 6. After the award ceremony the 10 patrollers were taken down onto the field and recognized for their achievement before the crowd assembled to watch the Mariners play the Chicago White Socks. After the pre-game ceremony the patrollers and their guests enjoyed dinner and the game from a private suite. The Mariner Moose even came by to congratulate them. AAA presented each patroller with a plaque and a $50 gift card for their accomplishment.
