Aegis at Totem Lake hosts health screening

Stroke is the third leading cause of death in the Untied States, and this catastrophic event can strike without warning. In fact, over half of all stroke victims showed no signs prior to the attack. But strokes can be stopped in their tracks.

On Saturday, Jan. 16, Aegis at Totem Lake (12629 116th Ave. N.E., Kirkland) is hosting a preventive health event. Offered by Life Line Screening, the nation’s leading provider of preventive health screenings, these services are used to detect plaque build-up in the carotid arteries, one of the main causes of stroke. Screenings for the detection of other vascular conditions, as well as osteoporosis, will also be offered.

For those over the age of 50, painless, non-invasive ultrasound screenings can detect warning signs of stroke before the stroke happens. Take advantage of this potentially life-saving event. For more information, call 1-888-653-6441.
