Helping Hands for the Disabled will be holding their first Comedy Uncorked event featuring several well-known comedians at the Laughs Comedy Sport this weekend.

Comedy Uncorked will start at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, with wine-tasting provided by Northwest Cellars, Waving Tree Winery and Skylite Cellars. Comedians Brad Upton, Brian Moote and Andrew Rivers will perform their stand-up routines at 6 p.m.

Amy Florence, a member of the board for HHD, said they are hoping to make it an annual event. The idea first came up when they were brainstorming on possibilities for a fundraising before their October auction. They had previously had a wine tasting event at a Woodinville winery, which partially inspired the idea of a wine-tasting combined with comedy.

“We wanted something fun that would raise awareness,” she said.

Laughs, as well as the comedians and winery, are all donating their services for the event.

Those attending must be over 21. Tickets are $25 each prior to the day of the event and $30 each at the door. You can purchase tickets through Brown Paper Tickets at www.brownpapertickets.com. Laughs Comedy Spot is located in the Totem Square Mall at 12099 124th Avenue NE in Kirkland.
