Woman steals chicken and shirt from Costco | Police blotter for May 25-30

Tuesday, May 30

DUI: A 21-year-old man was arrested and processed for drinking under the influence after being stopped for speeding in the 10900 block of Northeast 124th Street. His blood-alcohol levels were 0.167 and 0.164.

Monday, May 29

Hit and run: At 3:53 p.m., a 24-year-old woman was cited for a hit and run after striking another vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 12500 block of Willows Road Northeast.

Sunday, May 28

DUI: At 11:29 p.m., a 26-year-old man was stopped in the 9800 block of Northeast 116th Street for cutting into oncoming lanes of traffic while making a left turn. He showed signs of impairment and was arrested for driving under the influence with blood-alcohol levels of 0.173 and 0.182. He was booked into King County jail.

Assault: A 19-year-old man was arrested at 4:32 p.m. for assaulting security staff at EvergreenHealth in the 12000 block of Northeast 128th Street. He was seeking help for opiate withdrawals.

Saturday, May 27

Warrant arrest: At 10:32 p.m., a 26-year-old man was arrested after he was stopped in his brother’s vehicle in the 14000 block of 84th Avenue Northeast. It was discovered that he had a warrant out for driving with a suspended license. He as arrested and booked into the Kirkland jail.

Shoplifting: At 2:29 p.m., a 58-year-old woman was arrested for shoplifting after she was detained by loss prevention at the Costco in the 8600 block of 120th Avenue Northeast. The suspect purchased one item and passed all points of sale with two items concealed in her purse — chicken and an extra-large shirt — without attempting to pay for them. A loss prevention employee suspects the woman has an extensive history of similar behavior based on her membership history. She was released at the scene and will be cited through the investigation.

DUI: At 3:22 a.m., police responded to a vehicle in the middle of the intersection of 120th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 124th Street. A 25-year-old woman was passed out behind the wheel. She smelled of intoxicants and arrested for driving under the influence.

Friday, May 26

DUI: At 1 a.m., a 35-year-old man was stopped in the 1600 block of 1st Street after traveling more than 60 mph in a 25 mph residential area. He was placed into custody for driving under the influence, processed and released from the Kirkland jail.

Thursday, May 25

Indecent exposure: A 57-year-old man was arrested for indecent exposure after he was discovered passed out in a park in the 13600 block of 108th Avenue Northeast. A witness was offended because the park was right next to an elementary school. The man’s preliminary breathe test was 0.192. He did not offer any reason for being exposed and he was booked and released.

Warrant arrest: At 1:44 a.m., a 46-year-old woman was arrested on her warrant with the King County Sheriff’s Office after being contacted in the parking garage of the Kirkland Library downtown. She was transported to the Target in Redmond and transferred to Issaquah police’s custody without incident.
