Utah finished 29th as a team, its best finish since placing 21st in 1977.

Maggard anchored the relay team by running the fastest 1,600-meter split in the race at 3:56.53, leading Utah to a school-record time of 9:32.31. In the 3,000, Maggard, who was seeded 15th in the race, placed fifth with a time of 8:06.69.
