Kirkland runners compete at state

Lake Washington’s Colton Bailey, Belle Brandenfels and Chloe Cook along with Juanita’s Felicity Strzelec and Laura Benson competed at Saturday’s 3A state cross country meet at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco.

Bailey finished 45th in 16:39.40 and Brandenfels had the local girls’ top time with a 59th-place 20:18.40 in the 5K race.
