Kiwanis Club of Kirkland tree lot a huge success | Letter

The Kirkland community and surrounding neighborhoods came through once again this year in its support of the Kiwanis Club of Kirkland’s Christmas Tree Lot. The lot opened the day after Thanksgiving and officially sold its last tree on Dec. 13, raising approximately $30,000. The Kiwanis Club is grateful to the community for the loyalty and support it has shown over the years.

The Kiwanis Club of Kirkland is one of the oldest and largest service organizations in Kirkland with close to 100 members. All proceeds from the fundraising go directly to children and families in need, including student scholarships, Attain Housing, Eastside Baby Corner and many other charitable causes. The club also sponsors leadership groups in our local junior and high schools, known as Builder’s Club and Key Club, as well as support to the YMCA Kirkland Teen Union Building. These groups offer leadership and mentoring, impacting hundreds of teens in your community.

If you would like more information about this all volunteer non-profit organization, please contact club secretary Tom Pendergrass or visit www.kirkland.kiwanis.org. Merry Christmas and Happy New year to our Kirkland Community and thanks again for all your support!
