Viva Volunteers! Fair on tap Oct. 20

Attendees will learn about opportunities to make a difference in their community.

The city of Kirkland Senior Council, the city of Kirkland and EvergreenHealth will sponsor the Viva Volunteers! Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Peter Kirk Community Center.

Attendees will learn about opportunities to make a difference in their community with local nonprofit agencies and the city, such as:

• High school students searching for volunteer opportunities to fulfill service learning hours, enhance college job applications or to simply give back to the community.

• Recently retired seniors looking for an opportunity to make a difference and keep themselves busy helping others.

• Empty nesters and young parents looking for a worthwhile activity to fill the time now that their children are in school full time or off to college.

The event is free, and there will be complimentary snacks, drinks and door prizes. For more information, call (425) 587-3323.
