The dementia whisperer

Aegis Lodge of Kirkland will host a seminar on dementia communications and care on March 8.

Aegis Lodge of Kirkland will host a free educational seminar on March 8 that will share tips on how to best care for a patient or family member with dementia.

Laura Wayman, author of “A Loving Approach to Dementia Care”, will share her expertise on dementia communications and care in a presentation titled “Compassionate Communication”.

The event begins at 6 p.m. in the Aegis Lodge of Kirkland located at 12629 116th Ave. N. Wayman aims to provide tools that attendees can use to understand the world through the eyes of those with dementia.

She will also present at the Aegis of Issaquah on March 7 at 12 p.m. Additionally, Wayman will speak at Aegis at Callahan House on March 7 at 6 p.m. and Aegis of Queen Anne at Rodgers park on March 8 at 12 p.m. to give a presentation, titled “Navigating the Dementia Journey”.
