I write today with a great deal of sadness. I heard that the Juanita High School bands will not be playing at Spud Fish & Chips this year. This has been a tradition for many years and many of us look forward to it. Spud has generously donated a percentage of their sales to the band program from this event. This is an unfortunate loss as finding funding for the music and arts programs is not easy.

It is too bad someone complained that the music was too loud. Have they also complained about the bullhorns in the park for fundraisers at 5, 6, 7 a.m. on weekend mornings, or the baseball games? If one event goes, shouldn’t they all?

Really grouch, you must be new to the neighborhood! Some of us enjoy the positive sounds of life.
