Sound Transit needs to keep bus routes into Seattle | Letter

Attending a recent Moss Bay neighborhood meeting, I learned that Sound Transit was seriously considering ending the 255 direct bus route into Seattle. Instead it will drop you off in Montlake and then you will need to walk over to the train to get into Seattle. Basically, Sound Transit appears to be trying to make the trains the primary way into Seattle and subordinating buses to be feeders to the trains. As a frequent bus rider, I don’t like that trade-off because I will now need to take an additional step getting into the city and overall, it will make the trip longer and more of a hassle.

Sound Transit currently has an online survey for everyone to share their reaction to this choice: tinyurl.com/ychuoqtl.

I filled it out and found it one of the worst surveys I’ve taken. It was extraordinarily biased in its approach and left no room to really share any concerns. While claiming to be open to various solutions, there is no question they no longer want the 255 bus to go directly into Seattle and are pushing the train solution without pointing out its pitfalls.
