U11 girls soccer team from Kirkland wins state championship

The Kirkland-based U11 Lake Washington Soccer Association girls soccer team won the U11 Recreation Cup State Championship last weekend by defeating an undefeated team from Brier.

The Kirkland-based U11 Lake Washington Soccer Association girls soccer team won the U11 Recreation Cup State Championship last weekend by defeating an undefeated team from Brier.
The Cheetahs also completed the regular season undefeated and then won every playoff game to take the state title. The Brier team that Lake Washington faced during the final had not lost a game in three years.

The majority of the girls on the LWSA team attend Lakeview Elementary, with one from Peter Kirk and another from Holy Family, all in Kirkland.

The coaches are Michael Andonian and Jeff Day. The team members include: Grace Neirby, Jordan Milasich, Ari Issa, Sophie Root, Bridget Day, Ellie Pederson, Ryan Locken, Maliena Carelli, Bella Gonzalez, Annelise Schwisow, Emma Reisman, Coco Andonian and Naomi Kern.
