Two Kirkland collegiate students named CCC Athletes of the Week

The Cascade Collegiate Conference office announced Miranda Langenhorst and Riley Sine have been recognized as Red Lion Players of the Week for their performances during the period February 13-19. Both athletes attend Northwest University (NU) in Kirkland.

Langenhorst has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season. Langenhorst, a 6-foot-2 sophomore post from Susanville, Calif., registered her ninth and tenth double-doubles of the season in leading the Eagles to wins over Multnomah and Warner Pacific averaging 16-points and 11.5 boards. She ranks No. 1 in the CCC in offensive rebounds at 3.7, No. 4 in defensive rebounds averaging five per game and No. 2 in field goal percentage with .581.

Sine has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. Sine, a freshman from Spokane, Wash., in only his second meet of the season, ran a NAIA “B” qualifying time in the men’s 5,000 meters at the HUB City Last Chance Meet, winning the event. His time of 15.18.00 ranks No. 21 in the NAIA this indoor season.
