State baseball championships move to the UW, Kangs play Saturday against Shorewood

The WIAA Executive Board made the decision to move the 2015 3A State Baseball Championship to Husky Ballpark at the University of Washington and the 4A State Baseball Championship to Joe Martin Stadium in Bellingham due to unusable field conditions at Gesa Stadium in Pasco.

The 3A KingCo tournament champion Lake Washington High School baseball team will play in a Sea-King District playoff game against Shorewood at 1 p.m. on May 23 in its quest to return to the state tournament.

The game times for the state championships will be the same at both facilities. On May 29, the first game is slated for a 4 p.m. start with the second game scheduled at 7 p.m. Saturday’s schedule will begin with the third-fourth-place game at 1 p.m. and the Championship game following at 4 p.m.

Ticket prices will remain the same, $9 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens.

The locations and times for the regional games scheduled for May 23 are unaffected and will be played as scheduled.  For additional information, please visit the WIAA website.
