Southeast notches World Series title

The Southeast squad edged the Southwest, 7-6, in the championship game of the Junior League Softball World Series on Aug. 3 at Everest Park in Kirkland.

Cassidy Lund nailed a walk-off RBI double to give her team the victory in the bottom of the seventh inning. Also for the Southeast (Tampa Bay/Interbay Little Leagues of Florida), Lindsey Chadwick earned the win from the pitcher’s circle and went 3-for-4 with an RBI double; Lauren Callahan had a single; and Jocelyn Campo had two RBIs.

For the Southwest (Columbus Little League of Texas), Mayson Post had a homer and a single; Madyson Carter had a single, double and an RBI; Del Gray had two singles; Kenzie Heffley had two singles and an RBI; Brooke Lleverino had an RBI single; and Lainey Schobel singled.
