Auburn University’s season has ended at the College World Series.

Lake Washington High graduate Matt Scheffler catches for the squad, which was eliminated with a 5-3 loss to Louisville on June 19 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Scheffler singled and doubled in the game, which was delayed by rain after four innings with Louisville leading, 4-1, on June 18. The game resumed on June 19.

Auburn left the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth inning with Louisville ahead, 5-2. Auburn’s Conor Davis homered in the ninth to cut the lead to 5-3, and Louisville nailed down the victory with a strikeout with the trying run at the plate.
