Registration open for 7 Hills

Registration is now open for the 2010 Seven Hills of Kirkland Bike Ride presented by the Rotary Club of Kirkland Downtown. The annual ride begins and ends at Kirkland Marina Park and takes place on Memorial Day, May 31. The 7 Hills of Kirkland is one of the Northwest’s premier cycling events This fundraiser for KITH, held since 1996, attracts riders from all over the Seattle Metro area and greater Eastside, and as far away as France and the U.K. The 7 Hills of Kirkland is renowned for its scenic and challenging routes, delicious food, great support, plus a bagpiper and strawberry shortcake at the finish line.

Registration fees range from $30 to $60. All proceeds benefit KITH’s programs to prevent homelessness on the Greater Eastside. Last year was a sellout at 1,500. This year’s event is also predicted to sell out, so riders will want to register early. Businesses and other local non-profits support KITH and the 7 Hills of Kirkland event by hosting booths at Marina Park and sponsoring the event at a variety of levels.

The 7 Hills of Kirkland is a volunteer-run event. There are many fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities, from serving on the event committee starting in January, all the way to serving shortcake and cleaning up at the end of the ride.
