Redmond (14-12) lost to Rodgers 11-1 in the opening round. Redmond then beat West Valley 17-2 and University 8-7 to reach the consolation quarterfinals.

Next, Redmond is scheduled to play Richland at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning in Spokane.

The Forest Ridge/Bear Creek softball team lost to Cedarcrest on Friday at Carlon Park in Selah, ending its run in the Class 2A tournament.

Forest Ridge/Bear Creek lost to W. F. West in the first game of the tournament, but beat Sedro-Wooley in the second round.

BASEBALL

The Overlake/Bear Creek baseball team lost to Vashton Island, 1-0, in the Class 1A state semifinals on Friday at County Stadium in Yakima.

Next, Overlake/Bear Creek is scheduled to play Freeman for the consolation title at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in Yakima.
