The Juanita High volleyball team picked up a big conference win on Monday, edging Bellevue 3-2 for the Rebels' second victory in KingCo play.

The Juanita High volleyball team picked up a big conference win on Monday, edging Bellevue 3-2 for the Rebels’ second victory in KingCo play.

The Rebels traded sets with Bellevue, winning 25-22, 24-26, 25-14, 19-25, 16-14.

Juanita (2-4 KingCo, 2-4) scored the final five points to take the fifth set from Bellevue, which fell to 4-2 in conference play.

Senior hitter Makaela White and sophomore hitter Belle Jordon finished with 12 kills each, while senior middle blocker Mackenzie Boyce finished with 11 kills.

Juanita coach Rob Jammerman said freshman Claire Benson and senior Nathalia Zuluaga were instrumental, as were setters Emily Mikisa and Matea Marinkovic.

Next, the Rebels are scheduled to play at Lake Washington at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

The Kangaroos (2-4, 2-5) lost a conference match to Mercer Island on Monday, falling 25-16, 25-17, 25-11. Lake Washington swept both matches with Juanita last fall.
