Prep roundup: Bellevue girls beat Juanita in double overtime

The Juanita High girls basketball team lost to Bellevue, 77-69, in double overtime on Wednesday evening at Juanita High School.

The Rebels (3-2 KingCo, 7-4) led by eight points at halftime following a big second quarter, but Bellevue cut the lead to six after three quarters. The Wolverines outscored Juanita 15-9 to force overtime before edging Juanita 10-2 in the second overtime.

Juanita senior Tea Adams led the Rebels, who have lost two in a row, with 22 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals. Brandi White had 17 points and Jayla Kidd had 11 points.

Next, Juanita is set for a conference game against Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 6 in Renton.

Redmond 63, Lake Washington 36

The Kangs struggled to slow Redmond junior Teagyn Ohrt in a conference loss on Jan. 4 at Lake Washington High School.

Ohrt led the Mustangs (4-1 KingCo, 7-4) with 24 points and eight rebounds.

Sydney Olson scored 18 points in the loss for Lake Washington (1-3, 2-8).

Next, the Kangs are scheduled to play undefeated Mercer Island (4-0, 5-0) at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 6 at Lake Washington High School.
