Pateadores youth soccer club dribbles into Washington

Youth soccer club Pateadores is kicking from California onto the Eastside.

The Costa Mesa-based club has established its first chapter in Washington and second outside of California and will train and play in Kirkland and Bellevue.

Pateadores was founded in 1987 and is one of the largest youth soccer clubs in Southern California and is member of the US Soccer Development Academy with six boys teams and four girls teams. It holds the U17/18 Academy 2010/11 National Championship along with three USYS National Championships (2013, 2013 and 2014) and three US Club National Championships (2005, 2006 and 2012). It is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization and Nike-sponsored premier club that is partnered with AS ROMA.

Pateadores Washington will be able to assist in club growth, coaches education and player development. Pateadores offers its players academic and college preparatory support as well as a three-pronged professional pathway into the next level of soccer through its affiliations with USL, MLS and Serie A clubs.

Pateadores Washington is also launching Pateadores WA Academy, which will be the elite teams for both boys and girls made up of players from all of the Pateadores Washington clubs.

Rudy Lawrence will be the director of coaching and brings a USSF class “A” coaching license and 19 years coaching experience, including five seasons as assistant coach at Duke University and two seasons as USDA U18 assistant coach. He played at Cornell University and Hatha BSC Youth Academy of the Bundesliga Berlin, Germany.

Tryouts will be announced on its Facebook page @PateadoresWA.
