Northwest University’s (NU) Todd Siedenburg scored the game winner in the 52nd minute to lift the Eagles to a 3-1 Cascade Conference win over the College of Idaho (CI) on Friday. Senior Taylor Young had the assist on the play.
The teams battled to a 1-1 tie after CI (5-5, 2-4 CCC) took a 1-0 lead with Tyler Lawton’s goal at the 23:07 mark. NU (8-2, 4-2 CCC) came back to tie the game at 1-all after Trever Moll took Taylor Young’s cross in the middle of the box for the score in the 27th minute. CI played shorthanded after a player was sent off with a red card at the end of the half.
Siedenburg and Young teamed up for the capper on the game, but this time it was Young finishing from seven yards out middle and off a defender after taking Siedenburg’s cross with 35 seconds left in the game. Young now has seven goals for the season and leads the league with seven assists.
