Northwest University’s Taylor Young named Player of the Year

Northwest University senior Taylor Young, of Bellevue, was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference's offensive player of the year Nov. 18 as announced by the league office.

Northwest University senior Taylor Young, of Bellevue, was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference’s offensive player of the year Nov. 18 as announced by the league office.

Young was key in leading the Eagles to a second place finish in the league and a spot in the CCC Championships final and finished the year leading the conference in assists recording eight in 17 matches. He totaled 54 shots with 11 goals, six of which were game winning goals.

Brandon Wheeler, NU junior defender from Snohomish joined Young on the first team. Goalkeeper Daniel Christenson, redshirt freshman from Bothell and forward Odason Pelogi, a sophomore from Federal Way earned second team honors.

Defender Ryan Gamache, junior from Snohomish and senior midfielder, Todd Siedenburg from Tukwila were voted honorable mention.

Northwest University finished the season with an overall record of 15-5.
